Aristea Kyriakou

Founder & director, European Outdoor Education Hub

Aristea Kyriakou is an enthusiastic and highly skilled Greek teacher, researcher and academic, who has gained with distinctions a postdoc, a PhD (Onassis Foundation Scholar), an MRes, an MSc and a Bachelors, all in Education Sciences, with expertise in Outdoor Environmental Education, Curriculum Design and School Grounds.

She considers herself a European citizen – given that she has lived, worked and studied in Sweden (Linköping University), Scotland (University of Aberdeen) and Switzerland (Education First), apart from Greece (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki).

Aristea keeps working at an international level providing insightful, engaging and inspiring presentations, delivering workshops, giving speeches, leading and supporting school communities in their journey to use their schoolyards more and more.

George Kyriakou

Co-Founder, European Outdoor Education Hub

George Kyriakou is a visionary educator who has made a significant impact in the field of outdoor education in Greece. Shortly after he gained with distinction a Bachelor in Primary Education at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, he founded the Eco School Blue Bee, an innovative institution dedicated to outdoor education, critical pedagogy and experiential learning.

Through Blue Bee, George has pioneered a unique approach to education that has empowered thousands of students and teachers to connect with nature, develop critical skills, and foster a deep sense of of environmental responsibility.

George continues to direct and oversee numerous programmes catered to students, teachers, and parents, providing them with invaluable opportunities to engage in transformative outdoor education experiences.
