Routes of Water is an Outdoor Education programme that introduces children and teachers to the element of water as a pathway for learning, exploration, and environmental awareness.
The programme is structured around three thematic routes — the lake, the river, and the sea — combining classroom preparation with outdoor activities in schoolyards and natural ecosystems. Children aged 4–12 engage in experiential workshops that include nature observation, cooperative challenges, storytelling, and problem-solving tasks directly connected to water environments.
Through these routes, participants develop green skills, empathy, cooperation, and critical thinking, while strengthening their sense of responsibility towards natural resources and their local community. Teachers receive online and on-site training and mentoring to apply Outdoor Education methods in their classrooms, ensuring continuity and long-term impact.
The programme concludes with a participatory seminar, where teachers present the activities they have implemented, exchange experiences, and highlight good practices — reinforcing the role of educators as co-creators and leaders in Outdoor Education.
